The Unknown Poet

One night I had a marvelous

Dream of flying way up high in

The sky.

I’d fly with the birds up to

The clouds and hear a magical

Tale from the fairies that

Live there.

Then ever so gently we’d all

Begin to sing as the stars

Would fall into place.

How ravishing it would really

Be to fly up high in the sky.

To sleep in a satiny, fluffy,

Marshmallow cloud,

Where the moon is your night-light

And the wind your lullaby.

I found this in my kid’s old school work collection with no name. Do any of you claim it?

Um, I would like to claim that one if nobody else does. I've never written anything so pretty, so I'd be happy to claim it as mine if nobody else wants to.

Oh, Mom, I don't know! It kind of sounds familiar to me, but then, I really doubt I could have come up with something like that. Probably Kory or Chelsea, weren't they the poets in the family?

I read it again, and it really does sound familiar. Especially the marshmellow cloud, but I don't want to claim it without being sure. Is it hand written? I would recognize the handwriting.

I am sorely offended Jessica . . . Kory and Chelsea are the poets . . . I just have no talents at all :(
The poem doesn't sound at all familiar to me, but then I think that I wouldn't remember much of the things that I did in grade school.

Chrissy! I think you are vastly talented! Especially at untangling knots! How many people are good at that? See, you are above and beyond everyone else!

Well, okay then . . . you are now forgiven Jessica.
